Free drought resilience forum for Longreach

Member for Maranoa David Littleproud is encouraging attendance at the upcoming Regenerative Rangelands: Abundant Landscapes and Vibrant Communities Forum to be held in Longreach on April 20 and 21.

Funded under the Coalition Government’s Future Drought Fund Drought Resilience Leadership Program, the unique, rangelands-focused event will explore drought resilience through soil and pasture health, biodiversity, natural capital and emerging markets.

“This is an opportunity to soak up knowledge from a dynamic range of presenters, engage in lively Q&A sessions and roll up your sleeves for some practical field day activities and demonstrations,” Mr Littleproud said.

“Wednesday’s program will host a stellar line-up of speakers who’ll be digging into how soil health and landscape ecology interact with grazing management and livestock productivity, followed by a field day at Latrobe and Arlington Park on Thursday.”

The aim of the event is to enhance peer-to-peer support networks and knowledge sharing systems for land managers in the semi-arid to arid rangelands, with a particular focus on drought resilience through the lens of soil and pasture health and biodiversity.

Admission to the daytime activities on both the 20th and 21st is free (and includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea) but the Dinner under the Stars event on Wednesday evening at the Thomson River, will cost $81 per person, as an extra ticket option.

The link for registrations can be found at Regenerative Rangelands Forum & Field Day Tickets, Wed 20/04/2022 at 8:30 am | Eventbrite
