The sacrifice made by Dulacca’s service personnel will be preserved for future generations thanks to a $10,000 grant from the latest round of the Saluting Their Service (STS) Grant program.
Leader of The Nationals and Federal Member for Maranoa David Littleproud announced that the Dulacca Pioneers Memorial Hall and Progress Association has received the funds to go towards the restoration of the Dulacca Wall Memorial.
“Our Maranoa electorate has a proud history of service, and we must preserve that history for our future generations,” Mr Littleproud said.
“Given this year marks the 110th anniversary of the first Anzacs’ landing at Gallipoli, it gives me great pride to have helped secure these funds for the Dulacca community.
“I’m confident these works will help preserve the sacrifice of our local service personnel and will be a vital resource for our younger generations to learn from.”
Mr Littleproud said the STS Grant program was vital in helping regional communities keep the Anzac Spirit alive.
“What the STS Grants program does is ensure that communities can honour our national heroes in their own way,” Mr Littleproud said.
“I can’t wait to see what positive things the Dulacca Pioneers Memorial Hall and Progress Association will do with these funds, and I will continue to push to ensure Maranoa gets its fair share of funding through programs like the STS Grants program.”
