$13,701 for Paroo Progress Association to support veterans and community

Disabled access is coming to Cunnamulla’s Paroo Progress Association, which received $13,701 through Batch One of the 19/20 Veteran and Community Grants program to build an access ramp and install a disabled toilet, Maranoa MP David Littleproud announced today.

“The Paroo Progress Association is a worthy recipient of this Federal Government funding program because it strengthens the organisation’s position to support all veterans, their families and the wider community,” Mr Littleproud said.

“Local community groups like the Paroo Progress Association play an important role in understanding the challenges in their community and they will utilise these funds to the best of their ability to make sure veterans and locals have opportunities to get together through thick and thin.

“The great thing about the Veteran and Community Grants program is that social isolation is reduced while encouraging veterans and their families to remain independent, healthy and active within their communities.

“I have full confidence that the Paroo Progress Association will bolster their presence in the community with the construction of an access ramp and disabled toilet.”

More than $825,000 of funding is being delivered in Batch One of the 2019/2020 Veteran and Community Grants program.
