Ahead of Australia Day 2025, Leader of The Nationals and Federal Member for Maranoa David Littleproud is encouraging locals to mark the holiday in their own way.
Whether it’s at a barbeque with friends, at the local swimming pool, or at any number of community events, Mr Littleproud said it was important to celebrate all that’s great about Australia.
“Australia Day is an occasion for us all to come together and celebrate the fact we live in the best country in the world,” Mr Littleproud said.
“It’s also a chance for us to reflect on our past and acknowledge that our nation has a bright future ahead.”
Marking Australia Day 2025 in Roma, Mr Littleproud said Australia Day was also a momentous occasion for Australia’s newest residents.
“One of the highlights of every Australia Day is the citizenship ceremonies held across the country,” Mr Littleproud said.
“This year, I’m looking forward to seeing Injune locals Vijay Avichal, and his partner Kruti Bhatt be among those taking the next step towards being Australian citizens at Maranoa Regional Council’s citizenship ceremony.
“I encourage everyone across our Maranoa electorate to get out and celebrate Australia Day this year.”
