Crows Nest Historical Society: Paying tribute to service men and women

The Crows Nest Historical Society is set for a new-look memorabilia room to honour our service men and women with $3000 secured through the Federal Government’s Saluting Their Service grants, Maranoa MP David Littleproud said today.

“These tributes will promote an appreciation and understanding of the role that those who served played in shaping our nation,” Mr Littleproud said.

“The Crows Nest Historical Society will install a display cabinet to present artefacts in its memorabilia room which will be a moving tribute and reminder for us about those who’ve made great sacrifices for our nation.

“The latest round of grants ensures the delivery of meaningful projects in local communities to commemorate Australia’s role in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations and reflects our gratitude to service men and women.

“We will continue to support the work of organisations that preserve our local history for future generations and it’s fitting that Crows Nest Historical Society makes the most of this initiative.”

The Maranoa electorate was the recipient of $11,670 in the latest Community Commemorative Grants category of the Saluting Their Service Programme.
