Dalby’s Delicious and Delightful Festival set for top class acts

Top acts will take centre stage at Dalby’s Delicious and Delightful Festival this year with $17,250 secured through the Federal Government’s Festivals Australia program, Maranoa MP David Littleproud said today.

“Dalby’s Delicious and Delightful Festival committee will now be able to coordinate a series of workshops with Indigenous and multicultural groups which will culminate in a performance at this year’s festival,” Mr Littleproud said.

“This $17,000 investment creates a platform for different groups to work on the project, called Dalby – It’s the People Celebration.

“Dalby is a multicultural community and audiences will have a great opportunity to experience local talent.

“Local community groups play an important role in bringing people together for entertainment and laughter.

“The festival and its performances provide visitors to the region an understanding of how we live here with the unique and great lifestyle we have.

“Dalby’s Delicious and Delightful Festival will be a drawcard to celebrate everything great about this region.”

Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts Paul Fletcher said Dalby’s Delicious and Delightful Festival will be a drawcard for tourists and help celebrate the community and its stories.

“Festivals reflect the shared culture and experience of a community and art is an important component of that,” Minister Fletcher said.

The Federal Government has invested more than $550,000 in funding for 20 regional arts projects through the latest round of the Festivals Australia program.

Dalby’s Delicious and Delightful Festival will take place August 15.
