Leader of The Nationals and Member for Maranoa David Littleproud is calling for eligible community organisations to apply for round nine of the federal government’s Stronger Communities Program.
Under the program, grants between $2,500 and $20,000 are available, however, the maximum cost of a project cannot exceed $50,000 and projects must be completed before December 31, 2025.
For this round, grant funding will be up to 100 per cent of eligible project costs, except for local governing bodies where grant funding will be up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs.
Groups eligible for the latest round of funding include local government bodies, incorporated not-for-profit organisations, incorporated trustees on behalf of a trust with responsibility for a community asset or property, and Commonwealth, state, or territory government agencies or entities that is a fire service, rural fire service, country fire authority, state emergency service or similar.
“Community groups are the backbone of our Maranoa electorate and are part of what makes our region one of the best in Australia,” Mr Littleproud said.
“I encourage all of our eligible community organisations to submit their expressions of interest for a chance to receive their fair share of funding via this latest round of the program.”
Mr Littleproud said expression of interest forms are available online at david.littleproud.com.au or from his electorate offices in Warwick, Dalby, Roma and Longreach, and once complete can be returned via email to David.Littleproud.MP@aph.gov.au
“Expressions of interest must be lodged before 5pm, Friday 7th February, and will then be assessed by an independent community panel, with successful applicants notified and formally invited to apply,” Mr Littleproud said.
