Jandowae’s Taralga Retirement Village to receive $41,630 capital grant to beautify outdoor area

Residents of Taralga, in Jandowae, will soon enjoy an upgrade to the retirement village’s outdoor space thanks to $41,630 from the Federal Government, Maranoa MP David Littleproud announced today.

“Taralga’s outdoor space is set to be transformed by this $41,630 capital grant to beautify and refresh this common area with landscaping for residents to enjoy,” Mr Littleproud said.

The funding – secured through the Federal Government’s 2020 Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR) – secures a better aged experience in the Western Downs.

“Taralga Retirement Village will use this funding to make its facilities more appealing for our region’s seniors, and their loved ones, so they don’t have to go through the anguish of searching far and wide for a place to receive care,” he said.

“I think it’s a tragedy when our seniors are forced to move away from family, friends and community – move away from everything they’ve ever known – to a larger town or city to receive care as their needs change.

“Funding for this project goes a long way to making sure our seniors feel comfortable – satisfied with the residence and close to family and friends.”

More than $15 million was secured by five aged care facilities – in Goondiwindi, Chinchilla, Jandowae, Dalby and Warwick – across the Maranoa electorate through this round of ACAR funding.
