Local not-for-profit organisations and government entities are being encouraged to apply for their share of the
second round of the Government’s Growing Regions Program when applications open on September 5.
The $600 million Growing Regions Program is in its second year and is designed to help support regional
communities.
Leader of The Nationals and Federal Member for Maranoa David Littleproud encouraged eligible groups from
across the Maranoa electorate to apply for their share of the $393 million that is available in the latest round of
the program.
“Regional communities are the backbone of our country and programs such as these are pivotal to helping
regional Australia continue to grow and thrive,” Mr Littleproud said.
“I urge all eligible groups in our Maranoa electorate to consider applying for this latest round of funding as we all
know funding offered to regional Australia under this Labor Government has been scarce, especially since it
callously scrapped the Building Better Regions Program.
“This Labor Government may not care about regional Australia, but The Nationals are committed to ensuring
our communities get their fair share.”
The program will provide grants of between $500,000 and $15 million to support capital works projects for
community and economic infrastructure across regional and rural areas.
