NAIDOC Week sure to inform, entertain and bring communities together

This year NAIDOC Week’s theme, Voice. Treaty. Truth – Let’s work together for a shared future, recognises the cultures, histories and achievements of Australia’s First Nations’ people, Maranoa MP David Littleproud said.

“NAIDOC Week is a great opportunity to engage with Australia’s unique culture, learn from it, and share stories in the community,” Mr Littleproud said.

“NAIDOC Week events cover a wide range of activities such as family days with dancing, food markets and marches, welcome to country ceremonies, cultural performances, speakers, art workshops, BBQ and awards ceremonies.

“I encourage everyone in Maranoa to find out if an event is taking place nearby, get involved and support it.”

NAIDOC Week will be held between 7 – 14 July 2019. Further information can be found at www.naidoc.org.au.

The Coalition Federal Government has committed $1.4 million in grants to support these events around the country.
