New mower to drive community participation at Yarraman Bowls Club

Local bowlers will be at the top of their game in Yarraman with an improved bowling green to play on, thanks to a $8090 grant from the Federal Government, Maranoa MP David Littleproud announced.

“The Yarraman Bowls Club is an important facility for the whole community as the venue for a number of community events and a gathering point for local seniors and bowlers,” Mr Littleproud said.

“The club is dependent on a good bowling surface to provide facilities that will encourage and support participation within the community, and that’s why I’m pleased to secure $8090 through the Stronger Communities Programme which will allow the club to purchase a new mower to keep the greens in tip top condition.

“This is great news for the Yarraman community and the volunteers who are working hard behind the scenes to provide a valuable facility to the community.

“I’m a firm believer in bringing people together and improving community services across Maranoa because it has a positive flow-on effect on our quality of life and how we support each other – making improvements to the Yarraman Bowls Club reflects this.

“Regional communities are the heart of this country and I want to make sure that small capital projects are funded and the community gets exactly what it needs.”

Round 6 of the Stronger Communities Programme has seen $150,000 in Federal Government funding made available to Maranoa community groups. 14 projects across Maranoa were funded in this round.

Project grants range from $2500 to $20,000 to help bolster rural communities.
