Saluting Their Service grant boosts Crows Nest RSL Sub Branch

The Crows Nest community’s proud tradition of honouring its veterans will enter a new era thanks to a funding injection from the federal government.

The Crows Nest RSL Sub Branch has secured $8118 via the federal government’s Saluting Their Service (STS) Commemorative Grants Program.

Maranoa MP David Littleproud said the funds would go towards two new memorial park benches at the Crows Nest War Memorial.

“The (STS) Commemorative Grants Program is fantastic in that it helps community groups recognise those who have served our country in unique and special ways,” Mr Littleproud said.

“Every community in our Maranoa electorate is different and this program allows those communities to honour our national heroes in their own way.”

Mr Littleproud said he was thrilled projects from across the Maranoa electorate received a combined $85,669 through the latest round of funding.

“It is very pleasing that the Maranoa electorate got its fair share in this latest round of the program and I am very excited to see what good things will come from the grant secured by the Crows Nest RSL Sub Branch,” Mr Littleproud said.

“I want to congratulate the Crows Nest RSL Sub Branch on securing this funding and all of the groups in my electorate that were successful in this latest round of the program.”
