$35,867 grant boosts return of live music in Cunnamulla

April 12, 2022

The Coalition Government is supporting the return of live music in Cunnamulla, with Out the Back Australia awarded a $35,867 grant under round four of the $20 million Live Music Australia program.

Federal Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said the funding will provide much-needed support for local live music venues like Cunnamulla’s Club Boutique Hotel to rebuild, whilst also stimulating the economy and igniting excitement back into the community.

“It’s great to see the Club Boutique Hotel focused on a mid-year music season, which will cater for peak visitation to Outback Queensland whilst supporting both travelling and local original live artists,” Mr Littleproud said.

“This critical funding will deliver quality Australian live music into the community, putting local artists back on stage and helping our venues maximise their economic sustainability and recovery.”

Round four of the program has delivered support of $2.5 million for 102 venues to rebuild and become operational as COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease.

“To date the Coalition Government has committed more than $10 million under the program to support more than 400 live music venues get Australian artists back on stage, increase job opportunities for venue staff and help live music venues thrive again.”

“We want our live music venues primed to host performances, to engage and entertain audiences, and to maximise their economic recovery and sustainability.”

Arts funding by the Morrison Government in 2021-22 stands at more than $1 billion dollars – a record level of funding under any federal government, Liberal or Labor.
