$4.1 million investment in Yallambee Aged Care keeps seniors closer to home

Maranoa MP David Littleproud announced today that the Yallambee Aged Care Facility, Millmerran, can now provide support for 60 residents – giving seniors more options when it comes to finding the best care available.

“I’m committed to making sure our seniors get the best care available and the $4.1 million Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR) investment in upgrading facilities at Yallambee Aged Care is without a doubt a great step in the right direction,” Mr Littleproud said.

“Sixteen additional aged care places have been created.

“Twenty-five new resident’s rooms will go a long way to making sure our seniors feel comfortable – satisfied with the residence and close to their family and friends.

“Refurbishment of the existing rooms, new kitchen, staff room, administration office, laundry and recreation area mean residents will feel well provided for and have the chance to get involved with plenty of activities.

“I think it’s a tragedy is when our seniors are forced to move away from family, friends and community – move away from everything they’ve ever known – to a larger town or city to receive care as their needs change.

“Funding for this project goes a long way to making sure our seniors feel comfortable – satisfied with the residence and close to their family and friends.”
