Maranoa volunteers urged to apply for their fair share

Leader of The Nationals and Member for Maranoa David Littleproud is encouraging the electorate’s eligible volunteer groups to submit their expressions of interest for a share of The Australian Government’s 2023-24 Volunteer Grants Program.

More than $66,000 is available to eligible groups from across the Maranoa electorate with grants ranging from $1000 to $5000.

The funds can go towards purchasing small equipment, transport costs for volunteers with a disability, providing training, covering fuel costs, and performing background screening checks as well as other services for volunteers.

Mr Littleproud encouraged all eligible groups to submit their expressions of interest to his office before 5pm August 25.

“Volunteers are the backbone of our communities and grants like these give them the helping hand they need to continue doing their life-changing work,” Mr Littleproud said.

“The Maranoa electorate is blessed to have so many incredible volunteer organisations that dedicate time and effort to helping others. I encourage all of our electorate’s wonderful volunteer groups to submit their expressions of interest to my offices in Dalby, Warwick and Roma, or via email, to ensure they get a chance at their fair share of the funds.”

Expression of interest forms are available at www.davidlittleproud.com.au and once complete can be emailed to david.littleproud.mp@aph.gov.au
