FRRR Grant to Boost Southern Queensland’s Arts Community

Art lovers from across Southern Queensland are set to benefit from crucial grant funding via the Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal (FRRR).

Stanthorpe’s Artworks Granite Belt Inc has been granted $8,437 to upgrade the commercial kitchen of its volunteer-run community café through the FRRR’s Strengthening Rural Communities grants program, which is funded by the federal government.

Leader of The Nationals and Member for Maranoa, David Littleproud, said Artworks Granite Belt Inc was among five community groups from across the Maranoa electorate to benefit from the latest round of FRRR funding.

“The FRRR provides vital grants for regional communities, and it gives me great pride to see Maranoa get its fair share of the latest funds,” Mr. Littleproud said. “I’m confident each of these projects will have a profoundly positive impact on each of the successful communities, and I congratulate everyone involved for being selected for this latest round of grants.”

Also benefiting from the FRRR’s Strengthening Rural Communities grants program is Noorama Sports and Recreation Inc, which was granted $10,000 to upgrade the kitchen facilities at its community hub.

Meanwhile, FRRR’s federally-funded Strengthening Rural Communities – Small & Vital grants program has provided $10,000 to the Millmerran Academy of Performing Arts to run its “What’s the MAPA” series of creative arts workshops.

A $6,000 grant will help the Isisford Primary P&C Association hold its “Dancing Lessons in the Dirt and Dust,” which aims to foster community connection by providing after-school dance lessons for kids, culminating in a public performance.

The program will also help support the Jackson branch of the QCWA with $9,900 for its “Back Yard Blitz” project, which includes landscaping works to improve the safety and amenities of the local CWA hall.
