Commemorating Anzac Day 2022 in Maranoa

Maranoa MP David Littleproud is encouraging Maranoa residents to commemorate Anzac Day in 2022 their way.

“How you honour and remember those who are serving and those who have served is up to you,” Mr Littleproud said.

“Whether you cheer on the marchers in a major city or a country town, whether you lay a posy of flowers in a private moment, whether you watch a service online, or light up the dawn at home, we can all proudly carry on the legacy of acknowledging service and sacrifice on Anzac Day in 2022.”

“At its heart, Anzac Day is a time for personal reflection and commemoration, but it is also one of those days that taps into our sense of community and togetherness.

“As the sun rises, I’ll be paying my respects at Clifton’s Dawn Service, before heading to the South Burnett for Commemorative Services at Nanango and Kingaroy.”

Mr Littleproud said that as communities prepare to commemorate ANZAC Day in 2022, global uncertainty is weighing heavily.

“The situation in the Ukraine makes us think about the freedoms we enjoy in Australia.

“Let’s honour our Defence men and women and the sacrifice of all Australian service personnel who have served our nation and ensure our veterans, current Australian Defence Force members, and their families know that we value their service to our country.”
