Congratulations to The Hon Bruce Scott AM for his Queen’s Birthday 2020 Honours List recognition

MARANOA MP David Littleproud congratulated The Hon Bruce Scott AM, named in the Queen’s Birthday 2020 Honours List as a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia.

“Mr Scott’s commitment to being a voice for Maranoa cannot be underestimated, seeing that he served as the Federal MP for 26 years,” Mr Littleproud said.

“Mr Scott’s dedication to serving the people of Maranoa and Australia is a reminder that we are at our best when we serve.

“Born and bred in Maranoa, Mr Scott’s passion for the region, its industries and values continues to this day with his appointment to several boards.

“He’s certainly set a fine example for rural leaders to follow in and a strong legacy to build on.

“Congratulations Mr Scott on this very special recognition.

“I’m proud that 10 people across Maranoa have been recognised through the Queen’s Birthday 2020 Honours List – they set a fine example for us all to follow.”

Mr Herbert Wharton AM, Cunnamulla – For significant service to the literary arts, to poetry, and to the Indigenous community.

Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM):

Mr Garry Briggs OAM, Dalby – For service to the manufacturing sector in Queensland.

Mr John Ferguson OAM, Thargomindah – For service to local government, and to the community of the Bulloo Shire.

Mr James Massey OAM, Storm King – For service to the community through emergency response organisations.

Mrs Daphne Rich OAM, Blackall – For service to the community of the Blackall region.

 Public Service Medal (PSM):

Mr Desmond Allen PSM, Alpha – For outstanding public service to local government in Queensland.

Mr Norman Wotherspoon PSM, Dalby – For outstanding public service in leading the provision of Centrelink services to the Western Downs region of Queensland.
