Flags will fly high and proud when flagpoles, a plaque and memorial garden are completed at Warwick Christian College, thanks to $2800 secured through the Federal Government’s Saluting Their Service program, Maranoa MP David Littleproud said today.
“This initiative will see students saluting the service Australians have made in times of war, conflict and peace operations – promoting promote an appreciation and understanding of the role that those who served played in shaping our nation,” Mr Littleproud said.
“I firmly believe that flying the flags of this country demand respect and symbolise the equality of all Australian citizens.
“The memorial garden and plaque will certainly give us a chance to stop and reflect on our history and those who’ve made sacrifices for our way of life today.
“The latest round of Saluting Their Service grants promotes an appreciation for the role that service men and women have played in shaping our nation.
“We will continue to support the work of organisations that honour the service and sacrifice of Australia’s service men and women.”
