Maranoa MP Secures $707,763 for Gyrica Gardens development

June 5, 2020

Maranoa MP David Littleproud said today that the Gyrica Gardens aged care centre in Quilpie will build a multi-purpose facility with the help of a $707,763 Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) investment.

“Gyrica Gardens is an important asset to the Quilpie community, supporting people over 65 to live independently,” Mr Littleproud said.

“This multi-purpose facility will give its residents and their families opportunities to come together and enjoy each other’s company over a barbeque, in a private meeting room or in the garden.

“Local events will be hosted at the facility and, on top of this, visiting service providers will also make use of this facility, bringing an added level of convenience to residents.”

Once construction is finished, the multipurpose facility will include:

  • An open space;
  • Kitchen;
  • PWD toilets;
  • A small office for private meetings;
  • An outdoor barbeque facility for community and resident gatherings;
  • Driveway access for increased accessibility;
  • Pathways;
  • Landscaping to ensure beautification and ease of access.
