Maranoa MP urges community groups to apply: $200M to build better regions

What could your community do with up to $10 million?

Maranoa MP David Littleproud is urging community groups across Maranoa to apply for funding – through Round Four of the Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) – to boost employment, build more resilient economies and grow stronger communities.

“Drought is taking its toll across Australia and within Maranoa I’m fully confident that we can boost our local economies and create stronger communities for the future through the support of BBRF,” Mr Littleproud said.

“Round Four of BBRF is specifically for drought-affected communities and I encourage all Maranoa community groups to have a look around their community and come forward with projects to apply for funding.

“The grants will be streamed into infrastructure and community-based projects, giving more groups an opportunity to make the most of funding in this very tough time.

“Up to $10 million per project will be available through the infrastructure stream and for community-based projects up to $1 million per project will be granted.

“Previous projects have ranged from building community-based aged care facilities, training programs to support young people in starting their own business and improving freight access to airports.

“BBRF invests in projects that are shovel-ready and pave the way for our communities to thrive and survive well into the future.”

The latest $200 million round of BBRF will be soley dedicated to helping the communities hardest hit by the crippling drought.Applications opened today (Nov. 14) and will close on Dec. 19.

Further information on eligibility and how to apply is available at www.business.gov.au/bbrf.
