One month till closing: Local School Community Fund

Time is running out for schools to access funding for new computers, sporting equipment or refurbishments through the Local School’s Community Fund, Maranoa MP David Littleproud said today.

“There is less than one month to go for schools to apply for funding through the Coalition Government’s $30.2 million Local Schools Community Fund and I encourage all Maranoa schools to apply,” Mr Littleproud said.

“Maranoa has been allocated a total $200,000 to fund local school projects with grants ranging between $1,000 and $20,000.

“Remote schools in the region could even use the money toward excursions.

“Other project examples could include small-scale extensions or classroom refurbishments, new computer facilities, mental health and counselling services, playground equipment, library resources, or sports facilities.

“This is great news for students across Maranoa because it enables access to new learning experiences no matter which school you go to or how remotely you live.”

Applications to the Local Schools Community Fund are open to eligible government, Catholic and independent schools until 30 September 2019.

Applications will be subject to conditions and proposed projects will be assessed by a committee appointed by Mr Littleproud.

Applications can be made through SchoolsHUB – https://schools.education.gov.au/.
