Roads to Recovery funding flowing into Murweh roads
October 23, 2019Efficient and safer roads will help keep Murweh Shire well-connected with $975,000 awarded through the Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery program for Adavale, Bollon and Killarney roads, Maranoa MP David Littleproud said.
“The Coalition Federal Government continues to invest funding into road maintenance in the Murweh Shire because we understand that in terms of road infrastructure, local governments can’t do it all by themselves,” Mr Littleproud said.
“Works include some road widening, re-sheeting and re-sealing with parts of the Bollon Road currently being upgraded.
“Adavale Road works will be completed by December and in February next year Killarney Road will get the attention and maintenance it deserves.
“Apart from increased safety, heavy vehicle access is going to be improved and that’s all part of building up efficiency for the movement of livestock and other heavy goods.
“The Roads to Recovery Program is a local and federal partnership that improves road networks and delivers real and tangible benefits to local communities.”
The Australian Government is delivering over $27 million to 117 local government authorities nationwide for safer and better-maintained roads.
From 2013–14 to 2023–24, the Government will provide $6.1 billion under the Roads to Recovery Program.
