Saluting Their Service Grant to help Condamine honour those who serve

The Condamine community’s proud tradition of honouring its servicemen and women has been boosted thanks to a grant from the federal government.

Condamine Primary Parents and Citizens’ Association has received $10,000 via the federal government’s Saluting Their Service (STS) Commemorative Grants Program.

Maranoa MP David Littleproud said the funds would go towards upgrading the school’s memorial area in a bid to help encourage the next generation of Maranoa locals to keep the Anzac Spirit alive.

“It is important to acknowledge the sacrifice of those who have served our great country and this program is fantastic at providing communities with funds to honour that service in their own way,” Mr Littleproud said.

“What the STS Commemorative Grants Program does is ensure that communities can honour our national heroes in their own way, and I can’t wait to see what positive things the Condamine Primary Parents and Citizens’ Association does with these funds.”

The funds secured by the Condamine Primary Parents and Citizens’ Association via the STS Commemorative Grants Program were among the $85,669 secured for the Maranoa electorate in the latest phase of the program.

“It is very pleasing to see the Maranoa electorate get its fair share of the most recent round of funding from the STS Commemorative Grants Program,” Mr Littleproud said.

“I want to congratulate the Condamine Primary Parents and Citizens’ Association on securing this funding and all of the groups in my electorate that were successful in this latest round of the program.”
