The Nationals leader David Littleproud has welcomed new leader for The Nationals WA and Western Australia Leader of the Opposition Shane Love.
Mr Littleproud said Mr Love had the experience and skills for the role.
“I welcome today’s announcement Mr Love will lead The Nationals WA and the Coalition towards the next Western Australian state election,” Mr Littleproud said.
“I know Mr Love will do a fantastic job and give Western Australia the best possible chance of forming a Coalition Government at the next election.”
Mr Love was previously deputy leader of the Opposition and deputy leader of The Nationals WA.
He is also Shadow Minister for Transport, Mines and Petroleum; Local Government and Climate Action Manager of Opposition Business.
Mr Love has served as the Member for Moore since 2013. He was also local government councillor for more than 12 years, including Shire President of Dandaragan from 2004 to 2013.
“Mr Love has 10 years of experience in state parliament and almost 20 years in politics. He knows about the issues that matter and how to improve Western Australia.
“He is the right person for the job and I congratulate him on leading the party and the state Opposition towards the next election.”
Mr Littleproud also congratulated new deputy of The Nationals WA Peter Rundle.
“Mr Love and Mr Rundle will make a fantastic team and have my full support. I know there is a lot of hard work ahead and The Nationals are prepared to do it.”
